2009 LULAC Scholarships |

Award Criteria The League of United Latin
American Citizens (LULAC) awards scholarship to deserving
Hispanic students who are in college or will be enrolling in
college in the up coming semester.
Hispanic students who have:
 | Excelled academically |
| Have a financial need |
| Are committed to their community |
| Demonstrate leadership |
| Live within the greater (Sacramento, El
Dorado, Placerville, Yolo & Solano Counties) |
...are Encouraged to apply. Students are
eligible for the following three types of scholarships
Awards: |

National Scholastic Achievement Awards
($1,000 and higher) |
|
- Student must be
enrolled fulltime in a college or university and have a GPA of
3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
- Entering
freshman must have scored 23 or higher on the ACT test, or a 970
or higher on the SAT test.
- Criteria
for currently enrolled college students:
- Student must be
enrolled fulltime in a college or university during both
scholarship disbursement periods and have a GPA of 3.5 or better
on a 4.0 scale or equivalent. |

Honor Awards
( $250 to $1,000) |

Criteria for entering Freshman:
- Student must be
enrolled fulltime in a college or university and have a GPA of
3.25 or better on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
- Entering
freshman must have scored 20 or higher on the ACT test, or 840
or higher on the SAT test.
- Criteria for
currently enrolled college students:
- Student must be
enrolled fulltime in a college or university during both
scholarship disbursement periods and have a GPA of 3.25 or
better on a 4.0 scale or equivalent. |

General Awards
( $250 to $1,000) |
|
- Grades and academic performance will serve as
indicators of potential; emphasis may be placed on the
individual's motivation, sincerity, and integrity, which can
best be revealed through a personal interview and in the
personal essay. Need, community involvement, and leadership
activities will also be considered. This award is available to
college, university and graduate students attending classes full
or part-time. |
